When Johan Vansummeren won the 2011 Paris-Roubaix, he followed in
the footsteps of Fabian Cancellara and Stuart O’Grady who won on the
same grueling cobblestones using the R3. In fact the R3 has been on the
podium of the world’s toughest race every year since it was first
launched in 2006.
To this day, the R3 is engineered to optimize strength, stiffness
and comfort while offering low weight in every situation. Built on the
lessons learned at Project California, the Smartwall™ optimized second
generation Squoval™ tubes place material where it is needed most, and
remove it where it is not. We include the Cervélo optimized 1 3/8" steer
tube taper for confidence when descending and cornering, BBrightTM to
increase bottom bracket stiffness to new levels, and maintain comfort by
using thinner than ever lightweight seat stays.
Available in either the base model R3 or the lighter R3 Team, this
bicycle has become a staple for Team Garmin-Cervelo riders, and it could
be yours.
